There is more to a luau then dancing and native Hawaiian dishes. As a host your job is to make sure everyone has a good time. They also need to keep the mai tais and food coming.
To keep the party going there should be some party games involved. There are some traditional Hawaiian games that will get the part going.
Pass the Coconut
This game is like hot potato but a coconut is used. The players will sit in a circle. Have some Hawaiian music playing while the coconut is being passed.
When the music stops the person holding the coconut is out. This can be done until there is only one player left.
Hawaiian Casino
A casino game will always get the party going. Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and Poker can be played on Hawaiian themed boards. This will help to keep your attendees entertained for hours.
The play money used in these games can be Hawaiian themed as well.
Hula Hoop Til You Drop
Everyone will get into a line and the winner is the person that will be able to keep the hula hoop going for the longest period of time.
The final two people can use more than one hula hoop to keep things interesting.
Limbo Hawaiian Style
A broom or a long stick can be held up by two people while others try to see how low they can get. Hawaiian music can be played in the backroom as people try to get lower and lower.
